About Mina Hemingway
Mina Hemingway is the granddaughter of Ernest Hemingway. She was born in Kenya and grew up in Tanzania, Africa. After returning to the states with her father Patrick Hemingway at the age of fourteen, Mina continued her education in Montana. Mina attended and majored in cartography at South West Texas State University.
Mina endorses catch and release fishing. She landed her first sailfish at the age of 9 and following in the footsteps of her grandfather, has fished all over the world. She was the owner of the Austin Angler for 15 years, and now owns Mina Hemingway Florida Books Store in Naples, Florida. Mina, her husband Jon and their four sons live year round in Florida.
Mina has worked as a key representative in creating a traveling exhibit representing Ernest Hemingway opening in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Osaka, Japan. Mina has worked as spokeswomen for the IGFA World Fishing Center and has served as a director for the Ernest Hemingway Flats Fishing Tournament. Mina has represented the Hemingway family during the presentation of the Hemingway Pen Award at the Kennedy Library, and has presented awards at the Kansas City Star on behalf of the family. She has also served as a Director of the Ernest Hemingway Writing Competitions.
